Project Options - Port Angeles
City of Port Angeles Tree Inventory
Work with City Arborist Scott Johns.  Use GPS to map locations of all of the city trees (those between the sidewalk and the street).  Also, collect species, size, and condition data on these trees.

Port Angeles Waterfront Planning
Work with City Planner Nathan West.  Focus on Waterfront Planning in the City of Port Angeles.  The opportunity would focus on exposure of regulatory issues related to Shorelines, Environmentally Sensitive Areas, Urban Design and Cultural Resource Planning.  Experience with all divisions of the City's Community and Economic Development Department would be part of the project including issues related the Building Division, Planning Division, Economic Development Division and Cultural Resource Division.   The student would also be involved in the ongoing archeological survey of Port Angeles City's waterfront and possibly in interpretive signage for the waterfront.
